JANUARY 30th 2013

Cllr Cadogan Enright worked with SF and other parties to find a compromise that distances Down Council from NITB in the decision to not allow dual language signs. This will ensure that the Council will not be joined in any legal action against the Northern Ireland Tourist Board for discrimination against Irish

MEAN WHILE SEE THIS LINK TO QUESTIONS IN STORMONT – THE NITB IS IN TROUBLE HERE WITH THE MINISTER TELLING THEM WHAT TO DO – THEN ABANDONING THEM WHEN THEY DO IT

NOTE ALSO THAT THE DEPARTMENT AND NITB HAVE ATTEMPTED TO WITHHOLD MINISTERIAL CORRESPONDENCE  – As of 15th July 2013 a complaint to the Information Commissioner Office has now been made re the Tourist Boards lack of response to our request for internal review of their decision to withhold the five Ministerial letters, the ICO have written to the NITB asking for them to respond in 20 days – if not the full complaint process kicks in
